Danica Patrick Taking Part In Rolex 24 At Daytona Test Session

Danica Patrick, right, will test at DIS on Nov. 6-7.

IndyCar IRL Series star Danica Patrick will be among the star drivers participating in next week's major Rolex 24 At Daytona test session at Daytona International Speedway.

Patrick, the 2005 IRL IndyCar Series Rookie of the Year, will be testing with Howard Motorsports Pontiac Crawford with drivers Butch Leitzinger and Andy Wallace. In the 2006 edition of the Rolex 24, Patrick made her first start in the twice-around-the-clock challenge with Howard Motorsports and 1989 NASCAR champion Rusty Wallace. They finished 50th overall after suffering mechanical problems during the night.

The test session is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 6 and Tuesday, Nov. 7. Testing begins at 9 a.m. each day.

Other drivers expected to be in attendance include Indianapolis 500 winner Eddie Cheever, five-time Rolex 24 champion Hurley Haywood, Milka Duno, 2005 Rolex 24 winners Wayne Taylor and Max Angelelli, Christian Fittipaldi and Scott Pruett.

More than 40 Rolex Sports Car Series teams will be in attendance preparing for the 45th anniversary of the Rolex 24 on Jan. 27-28. To look at a complete entry list of teams participating in the test, click here.
